What an incredible find. This beautiful 1961 Bentley S2 comes with documentation and ownership history from Day One, including original sales documents, color sales brochure and sales training booklet. Also present is an original operating handbook and a set of factory maintenance manuals.

Delivered in Spain to its original owner, this desirable LHD model passed through two additional Spanish owners before being imported to the US by its fourth caretaker in 1976. The speedometer was converted from KMs to MPH at this time so indicated mileage is since importation and does not reflect actual mileage. Mr. Accera owned the car for the next 18 years before selling in 1994 to a Mr. Evenson, who kept it for another 16 years before passing it to its current owner in 2010.

These long-term owners had one thing in common, they lavished attention and careful maintenance on this stunning example which one look will confirm. A thick folder of receipts and records accompany this fine saloon and includes a copy of the original order from Bentley specifying paint & trim options along with other hard-to-find specifications.

Chassis B210LCU still wears its original color Sand on all lower panels with complementing Black on the top surfaces, body and bonnet molding and boot. The Beige interior leather appears to be original and is excellent, free of any significant tears or discoloration, although it could use a thorough cleaning and rejuvenation. The headliner and carpeting are also in excellent condition and there is an aftermarket AM/FM cassette unit with shelf-mounted speakers. Simple, functional instruments are set in beautifully finished walnut veneer that's in excellent condition.

As you'd expect with such a well cared for Bentley, the driving experience is sublime. The huge V8 starts easily and runs smoothly in all traffic conditions. The Rolls-Royce-sourced 4-speed automatic gearbox shifts smoothly and without drama. The factory-provided, dealer-installed air conditioning blows slightly less than cold and could most likely take a Freon recharge. Braking is straight and true and the ride is as you'd expect.

The BF Goodrich tires have plenty of tread and original wheel covers are free of any major dings or dents and are overall excellent. The factory tool kit is complete and in the boot. Numerous bulbs, filters and spares are also included.

It's not often that highly original, well-cared for examples of 50+ year-old cars are offered for sale, let alone one so stately and elegant as this Bentley S2 saloon. All this car needs is its next caretaker.
