Having undergone a full, frame-off restoration in 2012, this 1975 Land Rover "Santana" is painted in anti-corrosive military green and undercoated. The interior was reupholstered by a master craftsman in 2015. A two owner vehicle, it was used as daily transport for a short 5 mile commute and has 80,451 documented original kms [49,989 miles] and is all original.

Fitted with its original 2.25L 4-cylinder diesel engine, it was rebuilt in 2012 by a previous owner, a Land Rover enthusiast. The rebuild was described as a complete overhaul to solve a low compression issue. The block and head were machined, a new crankshaft, pistons, rings, all seals and gaskets were replaced with new Santana replacement parts. The Rover received an oil and fluid service in June 2015 and has covered minimal miles since. The Santana's synchromesh 4-speed gearbox is original to the vehicle and was also rebuilt during the restoration. At the same time, all drive components were removed from the chassis as well as the body. The chassis was rust-treated and painted. The leaf spring style suspension performs as it should. In 1975, all models were fitted with dual-circuit brakes as is this Rover—with the brake system working as expected.

Just imported from Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain, it is currently registered and titled in Arizona and has passed AZ emissions with flying colors (0.8% opacity, limit being 20%!!). Hard top is removable. Half ton capacity with tow hitch. Full time 2wd with 4x4 H/L. No power steering. New off road tires. No A/C.

This truck starts on the first turn and has a new 120amp battery (Sept 2015). A unique, great driving vehicle ready for its next intrepid enthusiast.
