This is it..the Stables' own shop truck. Truth is, we're just not using our hot rod Ford enough to keep. Part of our "stable" for just over four years, it's undergone quite a transformation which includes many upgrades. The first order of business was to strip down the ugly green paint and return it to its original Wimbledon White. Next on the list was to make it comfortable to drive, so we asked our in-house upholster to work his magic. In went a new headliner, door panels & a custom console w/auxiliary gauge pack. New bucket seats replaced the bench seat and a replacement Mustang dash pack was added. Cold air enters the cabin through a period-correct A/C panel and blows ice cold utilizing R134a refrigerant. A Bluetooth-compatible radio w/CD player and USB adapter complete the cabin upgrades. An aluminum radiator was installed to keep everything cool for driving in the Arizona summers.
Power is supplied by a 351 Windsor crate motor mated to a David Kee-modified Toploader w/Hurst shifter. The 4-speed is among the smoothest & most precise we've ever driven. Power comes smoothly and the car cruises comfortably at 60-70 mph w/the 2:80 rear gearset. Koni shocks are at all four corners w/Addco front & rear swaybars. Sub-frame connectors enhance chassis stiffness and maintain responsive handling. The battery has been moved to the rear and features an interior, keyed, racecar-style cut off switch.
If you're looking for a weekend toy that gets waves & thumbs up wherever it goes, now's your chance.
