Freshly Serviced Italian Roadster Ready for Summer
Alfa's popular Spider, produced from 1966 until 1994, can be divided into four series. Spanning the years 1983 to 1990, the Series 3 got the controversial black ducktail spoiler, integrated bumpers and minor interior revisions. This 1986 SIII model can be classified as a happy convergence of availability, affordability, and usability. With more than 44,000 produced, they're not particularly rare and parts are easy to source.
Consigned by one of our long-term clients, this top-of-the-line Quadrifoglio model is equipped w/the original two-tone interior of red carpeting and gray leather seating with contrasting red stitching. The leather has been recently conditioned and is in excellent condition with no rips, tears or discoloration. The carpeting has been cleaned and is also in excellent condition. All gauges and controls function as designed and the dash has the characteristic Alfa stress cracks in several places.
The canvas convertible top, a model of simplicity that can be raised or lowered with one hand, is in excellent condition with no rips or tears and the plastic rear window is clear.
The bodywork is straight with no dings, dents or evidence of damage. It unknown if the paint is original, but it shows well and paint meter readings are consistent throughout indicating no spot repairs. The "phone-dial" wheels are in good condition with minor curb rash on only one wheel. The Pirelli P4s have plenty of available tread remaining and wear 2019 date codes.
The car starts and runs well and benefits from a recent service including an oil & filter change.
Convertible weather is here and there's no better place to spend it than in his classic Italian roadster.
