DESCRIPTION

This turbocharged, 400 horsepower, 5-Series sedan from BMW represents a near flawless balance of luxury & sport. The power of its twin-turbo, direct-injected, 4.4-liter V8 is smooth with near effortless power delivery. Couple that w/this car's precise, close-ration 6-speed manual gearbox, and you have an overall driving experience that's hard to beat.

This particular BMW fell under a class action settlement covering 2009 to 2014 model years with excessive oil consumption. Consequently, the service performed by BMW North Scottsdale in November of '18 included removing the engine, performing a timing chain test and replacement of all valve guide seals and oil separators. The transmission mounts were also replaced at this time. New brakes and rotors were installed in October of '19 and the tires have approx. 75% tread left. The wheels exhibit no discoloration or fading and are free of curb rash. The body is ding and dent-free with no evidence of past paint or bodywork.

The black leather interior is in near-perfect condition with no staining or tears to any of the seating surfaces. The rear seats appear to have been little used with little to no wear evident. The entertainment system was seamlessly upgraded with Bluetooth and includes a back up camera. Needless to say on this well maintained sports sedan, everything works as it should and the a/c is ice cold.

The complete driving experience can be custom-tailored-controlled with either center-console buttons or the iDrive interface-for most of the car's driving characteristics, from ride to throttle response to handling. Although the discerning driver (or hopeless tinkerer) can fine-tune these through iDrive, it's easiest to leave the system in one of its four main settings: comfort, normal, sport, and sport plus.
