The Standard of the World!
Cadillac was on top of the world in the 1950's. The newly revised 1954 Cadillacs featured lower, slightly more squared bodies with a cellular style grille behind the large inverted gull-wing front bumper. The jet-inspired twin “bullet like” protrusions on the front bumper became known as “Dagmars”, after a popular female TV personality of the period. The jet age styling carried into the rear bumper where twin exhausts exited through ports in the bumper ends.
Power was provided by the 331 cubic-inch, overhead valve V-8 motor developing 230 horsepower at 4000 rpm. The engine featured aluminum alloy pistons, hydraulic lifters and five-main bearings mated to a 4-speed Hydra-matic automatic transmission. The result was plenty of effortless power delivered in a smooth flow to the rear wheels.
This Cobalt Blue, 1954 example was sourced from the Boyd Collection in North Carolina and purchased at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale in 2023. Rarely used by its current owner, it has been stored by us in our climate-controlled facility and run to temperature monthly.
It starts quickly from cold and settles to an ultra smooth idle within seconds. Features include the Twilight Sentinel, signal seeking radio which is currently in-operable, and electric windows & power steering which all function as designed. An original owner's manual is included along with misc. show awards.
We are proud to offer this investment-grade 1954 Cadillac Series 60 Special Fleetwood to the most particular collector or enthusiast who desires the best.
